Local Area

Tallowood Ridge is ideally positioned on a gentle north-facing slope in the idyllic Byron Shire in Northern NSW, with views of forests and mountain ranges in the hinterland and a short distance from the centre of Byron and the white sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Tallowood is only a short bike ride from Mullumbimby, one of the best-kept secrets on the North Coast, and recently voted number 7 of the top 10 towns for lifestyle in NSW by the Sydney Morning Herald.

Known as “Mullum” and the “heart of the Byron Shire” to locals, this picturesque town is conveniently located on the west bank of the Brunswick River at the foot of forest-covered mountains. Nature-based tourism, numerous cafes and restaurants and a relaxed country lifestyle combine to create a thriving, family-friendly community.

The villages of Bangalow, Byron Bay, Brunswick Heads, and an endless string of pristine beaches are less than 20 minutes away from this bicycle-friendly “Biggest Little Town in Australia”. A pleasant 30 minutes north on the new four-lane Pacific Highway is the Gold Coast International Airport – Brisbane is just 90 minutes away.
